About Witsy

Witsy is a spreadsheet skills trainer. You learn Excel by doing the work in a spreadsheet that runs in your browser, with every step checked as you go.

What it does

It starts with a free placement test: about 10 minutes of real tasks in the spreadsheet, adapting to your answers, that maps what you can already do. From there the lessons cover what you can’t yet, one skill at a time, and bring each one back just before you’d forget it, so it’s still there next month.

The practice pages and their worksheets are free and need no account.

Who makes it

Witsy is made by Futuedu Oy, a company in Helsinki, Finland. Futuedu also runs Excelkoulu, which has taught hundreds of companies and organisations, and more than 5,000 people, to use Excel effectively. Witsy is that teaching, rebuilt so you can do it on your own, at your own pace, in English.

Witsheet, our own spreadsheet

You practise in Witsheet, a spreadsheet we built for learning. It works the way the spreadsheets you use at work do, so what you learn in it carries over to Excel, Google Sheets and the rest. Witsheet isn’t Excel, and Witsy is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Microsoft or Google.
