That’s what every page here is like. A tutorial makes sense while you read it; then you open a real file and the formula won’t come. Each page is a short job in a spreadsheet: a quote to fill, an export to clean, a sales log to summarize, with every step checked as you do it.
Pick the skill your work or an upcoming Excel test asks for. If you’d rather practice in your own Excel, the worksheets below are free files with tasks to work through. And if you don’t know where to start, the free placement test at the end of the page finds your level first.
To practice in your own Excel or Google Sheets, download a workbook. Each holds fictional data at full size and a Tasks sheet of questions to answer with it. More on what’s in each is on the Excel practice data page.
The Excel assessment test guide covers what employers’ screening tests ask, and the Excel practice test page is the place to rehearse one.
Witsy’s Excel course teaches a few hundred small skills, called Wits, the way this page teaches the basics: in a real spreadsheet, a step at a time. The placement test finds the ones you already have.
Take a few minute test to see how good you actually are with spreadsheets. Witsy creates a map of the Wits you should learn next.
